Administration
1. Remember this weekend! Codys books school Benefit Daze:
Friday-Monday, November 12-15, 2004. 25% of the Proceeds of your purchases
at Cody's during this four-day event will be donated to Berkeley High School
to purchase books for the Library. Just save your receipts, and mail to:
Julie Wong at 1311 Sante Fe Avenue, Berkeley, CA 94702. For questions you
can also call her at 510-528-8191. Two store locations: Telegraph and
Fourth Street.
2. Important! All students who need to take an ID picture please report
to the Counseling center at these dates and times:
Wednesday
8:00 - 8:30 am
11:30-12:15 pm (lunch)
Thursday 11:30 - 12:15 pm (lunch)
3. Attention all freshmen interested in being Freshmen Leadership
officers! Pick up applications from Mrs. McKnight- Johnson room in C400.
Applications are due November 29th.
4. Tavis Smiley, of the Tavis Smiley Show on NPR, will speak on the
topics of: "What Do the Presidential Elections Mean for Communities of
Color" on Thursday, November 11, at 7: p.m. in Wheeler Auditorium at UC
Berkeley. A limited number of free admissions are available to interested
Berkeley High Students. Contact Barbara at the BHS Health Center for more
information.
5. REMINDER- If you are applying to a private school, your Secondary
School Report Forms (sometimes called Counselor Recommendation Forms,
included with each colleges application), transcript request forms and
envelopes are due on Wednesday, November 10 in the College/Career Center.
Clubs
1. The JSU will be holding a bake sale this Wednesday at lunch on the
Bradley Memorial Green. Come enjoy some delicious home cooking.
2. Hey Best Buddies at BHS! We will be having our chapter meeting today
at lunch instead of Thursday. Come to H106 to discuss the upcoming bakesale
fundraiser.
Sports
1. Congratulations to the Girls and Boys Cross Country teams, which both
qualified for NCS. They will run at Garin Park in Hayward on Saturday,
11/13.
2. Berkeley Girls Volleyball (ACCAL 12-0) play their final two league
matches this week. Today the Jackets travel to Alameda to take on the
Hornets and then on Wednesday, 11/10, host Pinole Valley in Donahue Gym.
Wed., 11/10, is also Senior Night, and the Jackets will honor Class of '05
varsity players.

1. UPCOMING COLLEGE FAIR AND WORKSHOPS- Saturday, November 13, 8:30- 12
Noon, Beebe Memorial Christian Methodist Church, 3900 Telegraph Ave,
Oakland. Representatives from many local and historically Black Colleges
will be present. Free admission and lunch. For more information, contact
510-655-6114. Flyers available in the College/ Career Center.

1. Make sure you buy a yearbook. The price is still $60-- but will go up
soon.
