Administration
1.	Spirit Week -Today (FRIDAY)  is Red and Gold Day!

2.	Homecoming Rally Day Schedule:
00     7:29 – 8:24                     55 minutes
1       8:30 – 9:15                     45 minutes
2       9:21 – 10:11                   45 + 5 bulletin
3     10:17 – 11:02                   45 minutes
Lunch   11:02 – 11:52            50 minutes
4       11:58 – 12:43                 45 minutes
5       12:49 – 1:34                   45 minutes
6         1:40 – 2:25                   45 minutes
(Students leave backpacks in the 6th period class; return after rally to
pick up backpacks from 6th period.)
Homecoming Rally in Donahue Gym         2:30 – 3:15 pm
7        3:21 – 4:16                     55 minutes

3.	The Berkeley High School Site Council will meet on Tuesday, October 
26th, from 4:30 to 6pm in room C106.  On the agenda are 10th grade 
counseling, formation of committees, election of officers, and by law
change.  All representatives and alternates should attend, and anyone 
interested is welcome.  For more information, contact

4.	Students and staff- if you lost keys, jackets or sweats, please 
check with the Parent Center’s lost and found.  Please come at 
lunchtime only. A list of lost and found items is posted on windows of 
the Parent Center.

5.	Bart tickets are here.  Bart tickets orders will be taken on October 
28th and 29th in room D148 at lunchtime only.

Clubs
1.	No “Earphone English” this week because of Homecoming.  See ya next 
week!

2.	Culture and Language Exchange Club members:  Come to a quick planning
meeting Friday at lunch in C134 to plan our Halloween exchange.  See 
Mr. Berkman for details.

3.	Quiz Bowl Kids – Please come to an informational meeting about the 
Quiz Bowl.  You will have fun and play in a jeopardy– style fashion.

Sports
1.	First day of Basketball, Soccer, and wrestling tryouts is Monday, 
November 8.  If you haven’t had a physical in the last year, you must 
schedule now.  Completed physicals and athletic packets are required in
order to tryout.  Pick up packets in the front office or in the 
athletic office.

2.	Girls Soccer tryouts will begin on the BHS turf Monday, Nov. 8 from 
6:30 – 8:30pm.  Bring your completed athletic packets with you in order 
to tryout.

Senior Section
1.	College visits:
Friday, October 22
9:30 am      Northeastern University (MA)
1:20 pm      Cornell University (NY)

Events/ Performance
1.	Community of BHS:  Come out and support the 3rd annual Domestic 
Violence Education Exhibit.  Held October 26th and 27th in the 
community exhibit Hall foyer.  Come and support the women and women 
that have survived and fell victim to Domestic Violence.  Exhibit is 
hosted by BHS Peer RAPP Program.  Periods 1-6.  For more information 
call 644-6928 and speak with Shannon Banks.

2.	Homecoming is coming: October 22, 2004!  Wear Red and Gold and show 
your school spirit, safely.  Remember, in order to attend or 
participate in the rally or to enter the Homecoming Dance on Saturday, 
October 23rd, you must have an Activities Contract signed by you and 
your parents on file with Ms. McKnight-Johnson.

Sales
1.	Building with books is having a bake sale and a DJ in the courtyard 
today.  Enjoy music while munching on our delicious homemade goodies.

2.	Yearbooks are $60 now.  Come to H102 before school (O period).

3.	Freshman!   Sophomore! and juniors! Spirit Packets!  Buy yours today 
for only $20 on the courtyard steps Tuesday through Thursday.  Cash 
only.

4.	Homecoming Dance: Saturday night at 7:30 p.m. in the Student Union. 
Tickets are $7.  You can purchase tickets at the BOC ticket box office 
at lunch and after school.  WILD 94.9 will be DJing.
