SENIOR PARENT COLLEGE NIGHT ­ Hear information directly from representatives
of the UC¹s, California State Universities and private colleges, hosted by

SAT/ACT TEST DATES: - Friday, October 29 is the regular registration
deadline for the December 4 SAT I and II tests.  Friday, November 5 is the
regular registration deadline for the  December 11 ACT test.  These are the
last recommended tests for the UC¹s and Cal States.

WRITING COMPETITION ­ Bennington College Young Writers Awards for fiction,
poetry and plays.  Entry forms available in the College Center or at
www.bennington.edu under News & Events.  Deadline:  December 1.

JOB OPENING
King Middle School has a paid position for a math tutor, starting on
Wednesday.  Contact Marsha Montgomery at 644 4544 for more information.

SCHOLARSHIPS
*Gates Millenium Scholarship ­ This scholarship covers the cost of
attendance of an undergraduate education.  Students are eligible if they are
African American, American Indian, Asian Pacific Islander American or
Hispanic American, are a citizen or permanent resident, have a GPA of 3.3 or
above, have demonstrated leadership abilities and are low income.
Applications are available in the College Center or at www.gmsp.org.
Deadline ­ January 14, 2005.

Association of Africans and African-Americans - $1,000 scholarship.  Send a

need to send your SAT scores to each one.  Instead, use the code 3594
(CSUMentor) and your scores will go to all of the CSU campuses.

UC/CSU Application Workshops: All workshops will be in the library computer
lab. You must sign up in advance in D221 as there are a limited number of
computers available.  The schedule is as follows:
