Administration
1.  Spirit week begins:  Today (Tuesday) is Tropical Tuesday

2.  Bart tickets are here.  Please pick your ticket up in the Parent
Resource Center.

3.  BSEP Meeting today, October 19th, 4:30-6:00 pm. in Conference Room
B. 

Clubs 
1.    Come to the GSA-sponsored Club Day this Wednesday.  October is
National Coming out month so help us celebrate and spread the word with
brownies, candy, and other baked goods.  You will get the chance to find out
about cool queer friendly stuff going on locally and also see other clubs.
Also, don't forget Wednesday is WACKY TACKY DAY!

2.    MANDATORY: All ASB Officers and all Class Officers meeting at lunch in
Community Theatre Lobby.

3.    First Mountain Biking team meeting: All interested boys and girls
should come to  H114 at lunch on Wednesday the 20th.  All levels,
never tried to advanced, are welcome.

4.    Attention all writers, poets, artists, and photographers:  The
Berkeley High Creative Arts Magazine is collecting submissions and we need
you!  If you have any stories, drawings, poems, or photographs you would
like us to publish, please put them in a box in the library. We will not
return the submissions, so please use black and white photographs only.

5.    Anyone interested in joining a new dance group?  Cultural Dance--
ballroom, hip hop, modern--all dance styles welcome.  Meetings are MONDAYS
at lunch in the A Building starting October 18.

6.    Quiz Bowl Kids:  Please come to an informational meeting about the
quiz bowl.  You will have fun and play in a Jeopardy-style fashion.

7.    Any club who wants to represent itself at the CLUB FAIR on October 20
should see Mrs. Ivery McKnight-Johnson in C400.  Don't forget it's Wacky
Tacky Day and all clubs must dress for the day to participate.

8.    The first meeting of the Insomnia Club will be today.  We will discuss
issues about the importance of sleep and elect officers for the club.  The
meeting will be held in the library.  Please eat before you come in.

9.    Opera Club!  Last one of the season: Tosca, October 19, tickets $30.
See Mr. Ayers to reserve a ticket in C327.

Sports
1.    Freshman boys who wish to tryout for basketball should meet in the new
"Jacket" gym on Wednesday at 4:00 p.m.

2.    Attention Badminton Players:  All players are required to participate
in a fundraiser sale of Coupon Books.  If you have not picked up your sales
packet, do so at once.  Fundraiser ends on 12/01/04.  Sale , Sale, Sale!

3.    First day of basketball, soccer, and wrestling tryouts is Monday,
November 8.  If you haven't had a physical in the last year, you must
schedule now.  Completed physicals and athletic packets are required in
order to tryout.  Pick up packets in the front office or in the athletic
office.

4.    Girls Soccer tryouts will begin on the BHS turf Monday, Nov. 8 from
6:30-8:30pm.  Bring your completed athletic packets with you in order to
tryout.

Events/ Performance
1. Homecoming is coming: October 22, 2004!  Wear Red and Gold and show
your school spirit, safely.  Remember, in order to attend or participate
in the rally or to enter the Homecoming Dance on Saturday, October 23rd,
you must have an Activities Contract signed by you and your parents on
file with Ms. McKnight-Johnson.

Friday: Red and Gold Day/Rally Day

Sales
1. Yearbooks are $60 now.  Come to H102 before school (O period).

2. Freshman!  Only 48 Spirit Packets left!  Buy yours today for only $20
on the courtyard steps Tuesday through Thursday.  Cash only.

3. Attention all Juniors!  Get ready for spirit week.  Come buy this
year's spirit packet and last year's spirit items in the courtyard at lunch
today and tomorrow.  Cash only.

4. Attention Sophomores!  Buy your packets today and next week until
Thursday.  $20 cash only.
