STUDENT DAILY BULLETIN
Tuesday, October 5, 2004

Administration

1.	Sophomores and Juniors: The PSAT will be administered at BHS on
Saturday, October 16.  Students will report at 8 a.m. to the garden to
find their room assignments in the C building.  For Juniors, your test
score may qualify for the National Merit Scholarship Program.  All
students who take the test receive not only a bulletin with a complete
practice test, but when your test is scored, you get your test book back
with the answers that you marked and a list of the correct answers.  
This
is a great way to prepare for the new SAT format that will begin in the
spring, 2005.  Sign ups continue through Wednesday, October 6, during
lunch at the D building ticket windows on Allston Way.  $22 cash only.

2.	Attention all students who were elected from their second period
classes to sit on the Student Council, there will be a mandatory 
meeting,
Thursday at lunch in G210.  If any representatives cannot attend please
send a replacement to the meeting.

Clubs
1.	Gay Straight Alliance meeting on Wednesday at lunch in  H208.

2.	Academic Choice Informational Meeting will be held Tuesday, October
5, at 7pm, in the Florence Schwimley Little Theatre. All interested
parents and students are welcome to come and hear the latest 
developments
in Academic Choice program.  Come meet committee chairs, find out what 
is
planned for this year and see how you can participate.  Questions?

3.	Achtung! Achtung!  Come to the German Film Vlub to see Run, Lola, 
Run.
Everybody is welcome.  At lunch in C135.

4.	Attention to any student who wants to have a say in how our school is
run. There are various committees which need meal plans and other parts 
of
the school which effect our daily lives.  If you are interested please
contact Lily Dorman Colby at 332-6616 or <LilyColby at hotmail.com>.

5.	Join the Student Research Team!  Design your own health-related
research project with a team of your peers.  Stop by the BHS Health 
Center for
more information and an application.  Talk to Michelle or Amber.

6.	Hey BHS students!  Do you want to make a difference in the world!  Do
you want to become part of an organization that gives the kids in third
world countries a chance to learn?  Come to Building with Books Club on
Tuesdays at lunchtime in G212.  See ya there!

7.	There will be a Club Commissioners meeting on Thursday, October 7th.
Club representatives must attend.  Come to C400 before Wednesday, 
October
6th or see Mrs. McKnight-Johnson.

8.	Hey guys, got questions, concerns, or opinions about men’s health?  
Or
just want to discuss and listen to what others have to say?  Come to the
Men’s Health discussion.  Get free food and discuss issues, dating, sex,
gangs, anger management and more.  Every Thursday in the conference room
near the library.

9.	Anyone interested in being in the Raza Club, please come to C124 on
Wednesday, October 6th during lunch.

10.	Attention Women of BHS!  "Speak on it!" will meet every Thursday at
lunch beginning October 7, 2004.  Please bring a friend and get ready to
engage in topics chosen by you for you.  All female students at BHS are
welcome.  Questions?  Call Shannon Banks at 644-6928.  See you on 
October

the season against Alameda High--  3:30 pm at the King tennis courts.

Senior Section

1. Seniors!   The SENIOR FORMALS have a new deadline: October 14th ….to 
be
in the yearbook. You can schedule appointments on October, 12, 13, and
14th from 2:30 p.m. – 7:00 p.m.  Contact ABC Harrell for more details.

2. Hey seniors! Senior pages will be sold on Tuesdays and Thursdays in 
H102
at lunch and everyday between 8:00 am and 8:30 a.m. in H102.  A single 
page
will be $200 and a double page spread will be $400.  Don’t delay, buy 
your
page today!  There’s only a week left so bring your picture in today!

in a self-addressed stamped envelope.  No late photos will be accepted.

Events/ Performance
1.  Do you love traveling off the beaten path and getting your hands
dirty?  Looking to achieve fluency in Spanish?  Want to really help 
people
in Latin American countries around the world?  Volunteer with Amigos de
las Americas and have the summer that will change your life.  Call Ariel

Sales
1.	Come buy your yearbook every Tuesday and Thursday at lunch in H102 or
everyday between 8:00 and 8:30 a.m. in H102.  This is the final week 
for $50
books.  Next week they will be $60, so buy your yearbook now!
