1. Many new people have joined the etree in the past few months. However, we
would like many more to sign up. Currently over 1,700 subscribers receive
the etree. But that is not enough. Our goal is to reach 2,500 this year.
To do so we need your help. Please pass the word to any families you know
who might not have heard of the etree. Encourage them to subscribe to what
is an invaluable resource for Berkeley High. To subscribe send an email to
bhs-request at idiom.com with one word only in the subject line: subscribe.

2. Digest. On a normal school day the etree sends up to five or six
postings. It is now possible when you subscribe to opt for the "digest"
form. The digest collects all etree postings on a daily basis and sends
them out in batches, one or two times a day. Some people prefer receiving
their information in this form.

3. We are aware that many people do not have access to email. Last year a
parent, Mary Frederick, printed up the daily etree postings and delivered
them to the Parent Resource center where they were kept in a binder.
Parents, and students, took advantage of the "hard copy etree." It is no
longer possible for Mary to continue this task so we are looking for a
volunteer willing to take over the job. Please get in touch with Janet at
jhuseby at pacbell.net for more details.

4. The PTSA newsletter does its best to cover most BHS news items, but
there are always time sensitive items which do not make it in the
newsletter. If you have BHS friends and neighbors who do not have access to
email, please take the time to pass on these items.

5. Finally , we would like to introduce ourselves. The etree is a PTSA
sponsored volunteer effort. Kathryn Capps is the parent of junior girl and
an 8th grader at Willard. Janet Huseby has three children who have
graduated from BHS (and college!) and is the parent of a senior boy. If you
have any questions or suggestions, please direct them to us at
bhs-owner at idiom.com
