STUDENT DAILY BULLETIN

Administration

1.    Please note, Summer School has added a new class, Self Defense.  If
you are interested, please add it to your application.

2.    BSEP MEETING today, 4:30 -5:30 pm in conference room B.  This is the
end of the year meeting.  Please come.

3.    The Vera Casey Parent/Child Center is scheduled to close unless the
Community helps!  Please write, phone or donate.  For questions or
concerns please contact them directly at 644-6954.

Clubs
1.    Everybody!  Come to the last Kickball Club game of the year.  This
Friday at lunch on the softball field.  Everyone is welcome to play.

2.    Final Earphone English meeting is today at lunch in C116.  Please turn
in ALL audio books today or Friday.

3.    Do you like Science Fiction?  Come to the Science Fiction Club on
Friday at lunch in C213.  This week, we'll be seeing Star Trek: First
Contact!  Hope to see you there.

4.    Come kick it with Youth Together this summer!  Fieldtrips, workshops
and art projects -- all for free.  Pick up application in the Parent
Resource Center and turn into Youth Together mailbox.

Sports 
1.    All returning and new interested water polo players.  There will be a
meeting at the swimming pool on Thursday, June 3, at lunchtime.  Get info
on the upcoming season.

2.    Play and Swim with BUSD students special needs this summer at the BHS
warm pool.  Days and times to be arranged.  Email Anita Thomson at
athomson at berkeley.k12.ca.us  for more information.

3.    The BHS Cheerleading squad will be having their final tryouts.
Tryouts will be held June 3, 2004 from 4:30 -6:30 pm.  Clinic workshop will
be held June 1st and 2nd from 4:30 -5:30 in the Donahue Gym.  Please pick up
tryout applications from Carlisa at lunch in the Donahue Gym.  Remember
you must have a 2.0 or higher.

Senior Section
1.    Chicano Latino Graduation meeting Thursday at lunch.  Mandatory
meeting!

2.    Caps, Gowns, and Announcements will be delivered on Thursday, June
3rd. Seniors, please make yourself available to take care of this.
Graduation is only 2 weeks away. Handle IT!

3.    Thursday, June 3: Last day to turn in the Senior Exit report to the
College/ Career Center (if you did not do so in time for the Jacket
deadline) so that you can get your graduation tickets.

4.    Last chance-- you can still rent Tuxedos if you need one.  See the
representative today at lunch on the community theater steps.


Events/ Performance
1.    Attention all BHS students and clubs: This Thursday join Cultural
Unity and others in C327 from 3:30 to 5:30 pm for a forum about how you can
affect our curriculum. Bring your ideas.

2.    Come see Ladies of Canyon: the music of Joni Mitchell.  The A.C.T.
Young conservatory company’s world premiere musical is at the Zeum in
Yerba Buena Gardens, June 4-19.  Wednesdays through Sundays at 7:30 with
2:00 matinees on weekends.  For tickets call 415-749-2ACT.

3.    ATPs is doing a one act festival!  Our final performance of the year
is six short acts of comic and dramatic brilliance by Ives, Durang, Mamet
and Gurney.  This will take place June 2-4 at 5pm in A203.  It’s a free
show.  See Jordan Winer if you have any questions.


4.    On Thursday, June 3 at lunch all athletes who earned a 3.5 or better
during their season, and all those who increased their GPA by a full grade
point during their season, will be given a free lunch party in the plaza,
compliments of the Berkeley Athletic Fund.

5.    After being named the top high school band an unprecedented two years
in a row by Monterey Jazz Festival High School competition, Berkeley High
Jazz Ensemble performs its final concert on Friday, June 4, at 7:00 pm. In
the Little Theater.  The program also features Berkeley High's other big
band, the Lab Band, and three small combos, all under the direction of
Charles Hamilton.  Tickets are $10 general admission, $3 for students and
seniors, available at the door.
