Administration

1.    BART Tickets are in, please pick up in  D148.

2.    NO SCHOOL ON FRIDAY, Malcolm X holiday.

3.    SUMMER SCHOOL applications are finally here!  Come to the
Administration office or the Counselors' office to pick one up!

4.    This month's meeting of the BHS School Site Council will be held on
Tuesday, May 25, from 4:30 - 6 p.m. in D219.  On the agenda will be
approval of the Single Plan for Student Achievement and the Safety Plan,
and a discussion of the 10th grade counseling program, academic
probation, and distribution of the Berkeley Schools Now grant to BHS.  All
members please attend.

5.    Library book Briefing - Last chance to check out and read new and
notable books in the BHS Library.

6.    Yearbook distribution begins June 1.  Check around campus for flyers
with complete details.  You must have your receipt and a photo ID to pick
up your yearbook!  If you lost your receipt, duplicates can be purchased
for $5 at lunch on May 27 or May 28 in H102.

Clubs
1.    Hip Hop Society is meeting Wednesday at lunch in H101 to plan a
barbeque.  All interested please come to a meeting.  Also planned will be
Hip Hop Society compilation, which is planned to be released June 3rd.
Come if you're interested.

2.    The BHS Student Library Advisory will meet today, May 19th at lunch.
Please bring any completed book review blurbs.

3.    All students and staff interested in attending the Tenth Annual Asian
Pacific Islander Festival, please join us this Saturday from noon to 4p.m.
at the park across the street.  There will be food, games, and live
entertainment, so please feel free to drop by.

4.    APIC members: Please come to the meeting today at lunch.  This is the
final week before the festival and your contributions are greatly needed.

5.    Earphone English Club - Three more weeks!  If you have any of our
Audio books, please bring them back at lunch on Thursday in C116 and check
in.

6.    Attention clubs!  Aids Walk of San Francisco is in need of volunteers!
Please see Ms. McKnight if your club is interested in representing BHS and
having an opportunity to get your club recognized in community
organizations.

Sports 
1.    Congratulations to Sam Geller for making Lacrosse All American for the
second year in a row.

2.    Attention: Badminton Players: all badminton shorts must be returned or
a hold will be placed on your report card, and parents will be notified.

3.    Attention Boys Soccer players: 1) turn in your chocolate money.  Do
not make coach find you!  2) Those of you interested in playing in a short
tournament this weekend come see Coach Juarez in C127.  3) Some of you
still need to pick up your JV Soccer pictures.

Senior Section
1.    Seniors!  Senior Ball bids will be distributed starting Wednesday,
5/19/04 on the Community Theater steps.  Only the student who purchased
the bids will be allowed to pick up the bid.  That person must their ID/
bid receipt/ and the contract turned in no exceptions!

2.    SENIOR AWARDS ASSEMBLY: Participate in the Awards Assembly to be held
on Tuesday, May 25th at 7:00 pm.  Pick up a form in the College/ Career
Center to let us know about the honors and scholarships you have received.
Deadline: May 11.


Events/ Performance
1.    Support your fellow dancers!  Come see: "HUMAN BEING HUMAN: A trio of
dances about life, death, and everything in between."  The Choreographers
class presents this fantastic show, including drums, danger and dancing
that will make your eyes pop out, this Thursday and Friday, May 20-21, in
the Little Theater at 8:00 p.m.  $5 students /$10 adults.

2.    Solano Stroll is Sunday, September 12.  Applications are due June 1
for entertainers and August 1 for organizations.   They're available on line
at http://www.solanostroll.org  or send a SASE to Solano Ave.

Sales
1.    Yearbooks are still on sale for $65 in H102 during Zero period every
day and at lunch on Thursday, May 20 and Friday May 28th.  Don't wait until
they are here; price goes up to $70 on June 2nd.

2.    Senior Prom tickets on sale everyday for $65.  Prices go up $5 every
week so buy your tickets today!  Last day of sales is Friday, May 28th -
NO Later!  Remember you must turn in your contracts and library books to
attend prom!
