As of October 24, 2021, some California area codes will be moving over
to a 10-digit dialing system. To complete all local calls, you will now
need to dial the area code (ex: 707), followed by the telephone number
(ex: 555-5555). Moving forward, the area code and the seven-digit phone
number must both be dialed regardless of if it is a local or long
distance for the call to be completed (ex:707-555-5555).

Why is this changing?

988 is the new three-digit number for the National Suicide Prevention
and Mental Health Crisis Lifeline starting July 16, 2022. To support the
new three-digit number for emergency services, the FCC has mandated
10-digit for many California area codes. A full list of area codes that
are affected can be found
here(https://help.sonic.com/hc/en-us/articles/4408175284887-988-Transition-to-10-Digit-Dialing).
This means that your phone number, as well as LMi's phone number, is not
truly changing. We are now simply required to use the full 10-digit
number for both local and long-distance calls, where before it was only
required for a long-distance call.

What else do I need to know?

- Your telephone number, including current area code, will not change.

- The price of a call, coverage area, or other rates and services will
not change due to the dialing change.

- What is a local call now will remain a local call regardless of the
number of digits dialed.

- You will continue to dial 1+ area code + telephone number for all
long-distance calls.

- You can still dial just three digits to reach 711 (relay services) and
911 (emergency services).

- Any 211, 311, 411, 511, 611, or 811 services available in your
community can still be reached by dialing their three-digit codes.

- During this transition, The National Suicide Prevention Lifeline can
still be reached by dialing 1-800-273-TALK (8255).
