The Berkeley High School Development Group (BHSDG)

35th Annual Spring Fundraiser

We are honored to host award-winning local journalists Sasha Khokha
<https://www.kqed.org/author/sasha-khokha> and Alexis Madrigal
<https://alexismadrigal.com/> — proud parents and engaged community members
— as they join us in our mission to support and strengthen the educational
experience of all Berkeley High School (BHS) students.

Fact-Based Media in a Truth-Deficit Age:

Empowering the Next Generation

A conversation with KQED’s Alexis Madrigal and Sasha Khokha exploring the
urgent challenges of delivering trustworthy news in an era of institutional
disinformation. Together, they will examine how families and young people
can become discerning consumers of media—and empowered, authentic
storytellers themselves—actively shaping public understanding and
strengthening the foundation of an informed citizenry.

Monday, April 27th, 5:30 pm to 8 pm

Gather Restaurant,

2200 Oxford Street, Berkeley 94704

Join educators, families, and community leaders for an evening of
thought-provoking discussion, drinks, and bites.

TICKETS:

To make the event financially accessible across the Berkeley High
community, we have designated some sliding scale tickets for the BHS
Community. We hope those families who can afford to do so will contribute
what they can within the $200+ Supporter scale to help us reach our
fundraising goals.

The $200+ Supporter ticket helps us ensure we can support our core
programming for BHS tutoring services.
