Happy Thanksgiving! Read on to find out more about the vital programs that
your donations to BHSDG have funded recently, and how to get involved to
help support our students, teachers and staff, and the Berkeley High School
community.



WHAT HAVE YOUR DONATIONS FUNDED RECENTLY?

Your giving to BHSDG funds after-school tutoring, classroom supplies,
software, teacher professional development, technology, college-application
support, and many other activities. Without your donations, the BHS
experience would simply not be the same. Highlights of some of our recent
grants include:

Special Education Literacy Initiative. Funding for the purchase of new
novels to use in Special Education INE Literacy and CEC Literacy classes.


Black Student Union Annual Conference Attendance. Funding to partially
support 20 students to attend the annual Black Student Union Conference,
accessing student leadership workshops, college and career planning,
inspiring keynote speakers, and networking opportunities.

AAPI Literature + Latinx Studies OMCA Field Trip. This grant funded BART
and museum tickets to the Oakland Museum for California for students in the
AAPI Literature, Latinx Literature, and Latinx History classes.

Berkeley High School Mock Trial Club. BHSDG funded registration fees for
the student mock trial club to compete.

California Math Council Conference Attendance. This grant funds 11 BHS math
teachers to attend the California Math Council Conference in Monterrey to
develop their pedagogy and practice and bring learnings back to BHS.

Get Involved.  We are a welcoming nonprofit board that meets once a month
at BHS' College and Career Center. Interested in joining and/or learning
more? Our next meeting is Monday, December 1 from 7:00–9:00 pm. If you have

ABOUT BHSDG

We are an all-volunteer, nonprofit foundation made up of parents and
students whose mission is to strengthen the educational experience of
every Berkeley
High School student. In the 2024-25 school year we awarded $363,814 in
grants, and we managed an additional $264,568 of donations and other
revenue earmarked for specific learning communities, programs, and
departments.


BHSDG is a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, and all donations
