Dear Berkeley High School Families,
We are reaching out to our BHS community to support fellow BHS families
facing immediate hardships. Many of our families and students are
experiencing significant stress and financial strain due to a potential
lapse in federal food assistance (SNAP), due to the ongoing government
shutdown, as well as increasing fear and anxiety around immigration
enforcement, limiting family mobility. We are seeing an increased demand
for resources to support basic needs for some of our community members.
Donations are needed now and will be collected through Winter Break.
Here is a list of items to donate to the BHS Parent Resource Center. The
center is located in room D224, next to the library. *Donations can be made
starting Monday, November 3rd, from 9 am to 4 pm and Tues-Fri from 8 am to
4 pm. I will also place donation bins outside the office.*
For questions, please contact Leticia Amezcua, Office of Family Engagement
Coordinator, at 510-644-4814.
