*Spotlight on a Berkeley High Classroom Volunteer: Building a Love of
Learning*

Berkeley High is fortunate to have longtime Berkeley Schools Volunteer *Susan
Gill *supporting students in Mr. Poppas’ Multilingual World History class.
The Berkeley Public Schools Fund recently featured Susan in a story that
celebrates how her steady, student-centered approach—shaped by years of
teaching experience—helps create a learning environment where students feel
heard, supported, and empowered to grow.

Volunteers in classrooms across BUSD to support educators and connect

*Berkeley Public Schools Fund Supports Scholarships at Senior Awards Night*

The Berkeley Public Schools Fund
<https://www.berkeleypublicschoolsfund.org/> was honored to take part in
Berkeley High’s Senior Awards and Scholarship Night, organized by the
College and Career Center. Executive Director, Duffy Ross, presented one of
four scholarships that the Schools Fund has fiscally sponsored for many
years:

• Sylvia Mendez Neighborhood Scholarship

• James Berry Memorial Scholarship

• Helen Chue Chun Music School Scholarship

• The Teo Fund

These awards are part of a portfolio of more than 40 small to medium-size
projects the Schools Fund fiscally sponsors across the Berkeley Unified
School District. Through this work, the Schools Fund helps educators,
families, and community leaders bring their visions to life in support of
public education.
