Dear Rising 10th, 11th, and 12th Grade BHS Families,

This Summer, current students will have the opportunity to participate in
the PE @ the Y program to earn PE credit. Please note that this program,
PE @ the Y, is the only PE credit opportunity we will offer this Summer and
that all Community Program PE Exemption (previously referred to as a "PE
Waiver") requirements must be met in order to earn credit.

If you have questions about your status with PE credits be sure to check in
with your designated counselor.

*Summer 2025: June 6th – August 12th*

This is an alternative P.E. program designed to help students obtain the
values and habits that lead to lifelong fitness. Students have to complete
a minimum of 60 fitness hours (combination of independent workouts and in
person fitness classes) and additional program requirements to earn a
passing grade to receive 5 credits toward Berkeley High School P.E.
requirement. This program is for *10th – 12th grade students.*

Students are eligible to register for the Summer ’25 PE @ the Y Program if
they:

   - Passed Spring ’25 PE @ the Y Program

*OR *


   - Attend 1 informational meeting via zoom and have an active Berkeley Y
   teen/young adult membership

A membership is required to register and participate in the program.

*PE Waiver Program Fee: $30.*

*Informational Meetings via Zoom – only 1 meeting is required*
*Dates*: May 22nd, 23rd, and 27th
*Time*: 4:00pm-4:30pm

   - Cost $34/month Teen (ages 13-17); $40/month Young Adult (ages 18-26)
   - Parent/Guardian must sign up the teen member
   - Financial Assistance is available

*Last day to register is June 6th. Plan accordingly to attend a meeting. No
additional informational meetings will be offered. Summer program will run

*Financial Assistance:* Financial assistance is available to help make Y
memberships and programs available to people of all ages, abilities, and
backgrounds. Funds are made available by the generous individuals who
donate to the Y. The Y will grant financial assistance to the extent that
