[The Women's Faculty Club]

Dear Departmental Members -

We just wanted to remind you as the date approaches that we would love to
see you at the Annual Open House.  Please let us know if you cannot make
the date, but would like a tour of the Club.  We can arrange individual
tours of the hotel rooms.

We look forward to welcoming you to our Annual Open House on Wednesday,
April 13th,  4:00 - 6:00 p.m.  This year in addition to our traditional
wine and chocolate tastings we are featuring Nicole Sturzenberger, the
Assistant Director of the UC Davis Olive Center.  She will join us for a
presentation on olive oil and tastings of UC Davis produced olive oil.  
UC Davis has been producing their own olive oil since 2005 using  olives
from over 2000 olive trees on the campus.  The UC Davis Olive Center was
launched in 2008 in conjunction with the Robert Mondavi Institute for Wine
and Food Science. Sturzenberger has her Masters degree in Food Culture
from the L'Universita degli Studi di Scienze Gastronomiche in Parma, Italy
- largely credited as the birthplace of the Slow Food movement.

Join us for an afternoon of tastings, talk and tours!  Several of the
hotel rooms will be open and there will be also be a  raffle for
departmental members.  Expect that our Women's Faculty Club canvas bags,
UC Davis olive oil and some excellent wine will be among the prizes.
