<span style="font-family:"Arial","sans-serif"">Berkeley High School African American Studies Department presents "The Story of Kumba: The Orphaned Child", a West African legend. Once upon a time, in the kingdom of the great Mali Empire,
a man of royalty, who was blessed with a beautiful daughter, Kumba, lost his kind and gentle wife. By African tradition, he remarried and not only gained a wife, but another daughter, Penda, who was quite spoiled and disrespectful. For a while, the new wife
was good, but then she began to be very demanding and domineering to her husband and Kumba, but nice to Penda. If this reminds you of the story of Cinderella, you are good.

your contributions. For information on how you can contribute in other ways, please see the Green Team senior leaders Renee, Angie or Athena.
