<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-family:"Arial","sans-serif"">We are very excited to announce this month’s guest speaker,
<b>BUSD researcher, teacher, and parent Dave Stevens</b>, who will discuss his exciting work on developing the Academic Support Index (ASI) to refine student demographic data as a means to objectively identify at-risk students, target intervention work, and
evaluate programs. It has a strong correlation with academic outcomes including GPA, the high school exit exam, and UC eligibility rates. Come hear Dave present on the ASI and find out why parents think it’s phenomenal, teachers say it really works, and how
BHS has benefited from it. Dave’s work has attracted national attention as a model for assessments.<o:p></o:p></span></p>
