UC Berkeley, in partnership with the YMCA Teen Center, is now offering NASA Opportunities in Visualization, Art, and Science, or NOVAS, a new NASA-sponsored program that explores NASA science through art and highlights the need for and uses of art and visualizations in science. All workshops are being held at the YMCA Teen Center from 4:30 to 7:00pm every other Wednesday beginning March 20 and ending on May 29, 2013. As most of you probably know already, the Teen Center is located just across the street at the corner of MLK Jr. Way and Center Street. Snacks and refreshments will be provided at all workshops!

A NOVAS program description and application form is attached. The easiest way to apply is to save the application on your computer, fill it out, save it again and email it to nasa.novas@gmail.com. Please note, parent signatures are NOT required for emailed applications at this time and will be collected later. Applications can also be faxed to (510) 643-5660. Please let us know if you would prefer printed copies (and number requested) and we’ll get those out to you as soon as possible. The deadline for all applications is Friday, March 15th.

Thank you very much for your assistance!

Dan Zevin
On behalf of the entire NOVAS team

***************************************
Dan Zevin
Public Education Specialist
Space Sciences Laboratory
7 Gauss Way, MC 7450
University of California, Berkeley
Berkeley, CA 94720-7450

(510) 642-8326
(510) 643-5660 [fax]
dzevin@ssl.berkeley.edu

http://cse.ssl.berkeley.edu
