Our first session will be Saturday, December 15th. This will be the only session for this month. Starting January 19th, we will begin with sessions every other Saturday. The hours will be from 9 am to noon. Tutors will help students with work missed the days they were absent. Attending a full three-hour session of Saturday School will excuse six of a student’s most recent unexcused period absences. <o:p></o:p></span></p><p class=MsoNormal><span style='font-family:"Arial","sans-serif";color:black'> <o:p></o:p></span></p><p class=MsoNormal><span style='font-family:"Arial","sans-serif";color:black'>Students may not drop in to Saturday school; they must sign up in advance. Space will be limited to the first 30 students who sign up for each session, with priority given to students with many absences. To sign up for Saturday school, come by the attendance office in room D-134. Starting in quarter two, which began October 29th, any student who misses 30 periods of class without an excuse will get blocked from school dances and from work permits. Every three tardies will count as one unexcused absence. The count will accumulate all year and <u>will also apply to seniors who want to attend prom</u>. Coming to Saturday school and bringing the number of period absences back under a threshold of 30 periods allows student to attend dances and get a work permit.<o:p></o:p></span></p><p class=MsoNormal><span style='font-family:"Arial","sans-serif";color:black'> <o:p></o:p></span></p><p class=MsoNormal><span style='font-family:"Arial","sans-serif";color:black'>contact: Daniel Roose<o:p></o:p></span></p><p class=MsoNormal><span style='font-family:"Arial","sans-serif";color:black'>email: <a href="mailto:danielroose@berkeley.net">danielroose@berkeley.net</a> <o:p></o:p></span></p><p class=MsoNormal><span style='font-family:"Arial","sans-serif";color:black'>phone: 510.644.6929<o:p></o:p></span></p><p class=MsoNormal><span style='font-family:"Arial","sans-serif";color:black'><o:p> </o:p></span></p><p class=MsoNormal><span style='font-size:10.0pt;font-family:"Arial","sans-serif";color:navy'>________________</span><span style='font-size:13.5pt;font-family:"Times","serif";color:black'><o:p></o:p></span></p><p class=MsoNormal><span style='font-size:10.0pt;font-family:"Arial","sans-serif";color:navy'>Diane Douglas, Marguerite Fa-Kaji, and Lisa Sibony are </span><span style='font-size:10.0pt;font-family:"Arial","sans-serif";color:navy'>the parent-volunteer facilitators of the etree; please direct any questions to them at <a href="mailto:bhs-owner@lmi.net" title="mailto:bhs-owner@lmi.net"><span style='color:navy'>bhs-owner@lmi.net</span></a>.
