Most of us would. One of the campaigns the student leadership team has decided to take on for this March’s Month of Service is to help build a birthing center in Dolpa, Nepal through "One Dollar for Life", 2009 winner of the Outstanding Youth Philanthropic Organization from the Association of Fundraising Professionals. <br><br>In this region of Nepal maternal birth-related death rates have been extremely high - up to an alarming nearly 10% in some parts of the region - as the nearest hospital for many is several hours away. Read here for more.<br><br>In our first round of collection on March 16 we collected just about $900 - pretty impressive! However, for the birthing center project to begin, they need at least 80% of funding in place, which requires us being able to give about $3000. <br><br><b>Tomorrow, Friday, March 30,</b> leadership students will go to every second period classroom to collect money in specially marked boxes. Please help your student participate if you can by encouraging them to bring a dollar or more. <br><br>If you would personally like to donate, please write checks to "One Dollar for Life" and deliver it or have your student deliver it to the Leadership Office. We could use your help to meet our goal!! To make this a powerful, community building experience we ask that you please participate. <br><br>The message for students is powerful: you CAN be a bigger person by helping someone else.
