<P><FONT face=Arial>BERKELEY UNIFIED SCHOOL DISTRICT BOARD UPDATES<BR>At the
board meeting on August 12, 2009, the Board discussed the following item
relevant to Berkeley High School:</P></FONT>
<P><FONT face=Arial>1.1-CF Report From Board Policy Subcommittee The Board
Subcommittee on Policy has met three times over the summer to address policy
issues related to the governance of Berkeley High School (BHS). At a previous
Board meeting, direction was given to determine in consultation with Principal
Jim Slemp what modifications could be made before the school year begins to
address some of the concerns that have been brought forward by members of the
community. T</FONT><FONT face=Arial>he subcommittee is recommending five
items for implementation pending their ratification. The next step is to go to
BHS who would then approve it as part of by laws and then it would come back to
the Board. </FONT><FONT face=Arial><EM>Complete information about this
