Center for Infectious Disease Preparedness and Collaborating Agencies Responding
to Disasters (CARD) are working together to offer a special series on disaster
preparedness for special needs populations. The course is designed to help
public health and emergency response professionals and other decision-makers to
better understand and effectively address disaster preparedness for special
needs populations.

The series encompasses the specific information and
topics that need to be addressed by ANY community, including each of our
schools, and is exactly the comprehensive training for which those with children
with disabilities in the BUSD have been long advocating.

We urge our
administrators, principals, Board directors, safety officers, site and safety
committees, PTAs, families and all those who need to understand and
comprehensively address this critical missing piece of school safety, to take
advantage of this opportunity to send key people to these trainings, or to
schedule participation by webcast, so that we may adequately prepare for the
safety needs of this population.

Presented by: Ana-Marie Jones,
