Berkeley High School Development Group Monthly Meeting - Monday October 7
from 7:00 - 9:00 pm

If you are looking for an opportunity to get more involved at BHS or a way
to learn about some of the incredible programs available to our students,
you should come check out the Berkeley High School Development Group's
October 7th meeting. The agenda includes general board updates, and
discussions on monthly grant requests. The meeting will be held in the
College and Career Center from 7:00 - 9:00 pm. You can enter the school on
Milvia through the M building gate and walk over to the administration
building. Go up the stairs to the College and Career Center which is across
from the library. Please email info at bhsdevelopmentgroup.org with any
questions and/or if you are interested in attending in advance of the
meeting.

BHSDG is an all-volunteer, nonprofit foundation made up of parents and
students whose mission is to strengthen the educational experience for all
students. BHSDG funds essential programs, materials, and training in the
areas of academic achievement, enrichment, intervention, equity, community

WHAT HAVE YOUR DONATIONS FUNDED RECENTLY?
Your giving to BHSDG funds after-school tutoring, classroom supplies,
software, teacher professional development, technology, college-application
support, and many other activities. Without your donations, the BHS
experience would simply not be the same. Highlights of grants funded at our
first meeting of the 2024-2025 school year on September 9 include these
programs benefiting students:


Coordination of Support for Multilingual Learners. This grant provides
stipends per student tutor to work with MLP students in 7th period
tutorial.

BTA's Wellness Center Grand Opening. These funds provide an Honorarium for
a keynote speaker for the Wellness Center Grand Opening.

*Honorarium for U9 presentation by Dashka Slater. *This honorarium for
author Dashka Slater will fund her address to all U9 students about her new
book, *Accountable.* All U9 students and teachers will read this book.

*Latine/AAPI Field Trip to OMCA. *These funds will facilitate a field trip
to Oakland Museum of CA for students in Chicano Studies/AAPI Lit classes.
