(access
with student account)
Students who participated in the first math placement test and did not meet
the criteria for Advanced Math 1 may register to take a second placement
test on Thursday September 12, 2024 during 5th period. This test will
include the same content from the first placement test, as well as content
covered in their Math 1 class this year. Students who meet the criteria
based on the second placement test will be automatically moved to Advanced
Math 1 (students may choose to opt-out). This is the last opportunity to
move into Advanced Math 1 this school year. All 9th graders who earn an A
in Math 1 in fall and spring semester are eligible to take a placement test
at the end of 9th grade to potentially move into Advanced Math 2 in 10th
grade.

from
a student account to sign up for the second placement test.
Students will receive an email the week of September 9 with the test
location and more details.
Berkeley High School offers an Advanced Math 1 course for students who have
a passion for mathematics and want to invest extra time and effort in their
9th grade math class. Students interested in this course are required to
take a placement test. Placement determinations are made at the discretion
of Berkeley High School math instructors; all placement decisions are
final. Students who do not pass the first placement test will have one more
opportunity to take a placement test after the first month of school to
potentially move into Advanced Math 1.
