The BHS SSC decided to add another meeting on May 23 in case more business
needed to be addressed. At this point we have no items for the agenda and
therefore will be cancelling the meeting.

I want to take a moment to show my deep appreciation for all and to
highlight some of our work this year.

Each of the committee members and many in the broader community have
engaged deeply with thoughtful participation throughout the year creating
what I firmly believe has been a collaborative, student centered process.
We developed strong partnerships among staff, students, guardians, and
community members, and used those relationships to increase our support for
students and staff at BHS. Here are just a few of our accomplishments this
year:

*allocating over $400,000 in carryover funds to support athletics, wellness
center programming, and math education
*continuing funding for successful programs including the College and
Career Center, Student Tutoring, African Diaspora Dance, Multilingual
Program, and many more
*taking important steps toward increasing school safety through the
challenging but fruitful process of updating the School Safety Plan
*bringing support for new ideas into more firm and consistent funding
through BSEP like funds for the Latine Graduation, New Educator Support
Team, and more
*expanding access to the arts for students through the Prop 28 budget

THANK YOU for all that you've done and will continue to do for the children
and families in the BHS community. We will have some continuing and some
new student SSC members, and information for staff, guardians and community
members to nominate themselves will be sent via usual email channels at the
beginning of next school year.
