Dear BUSD Community,
Join the African American Studies Department in celebrating our 55th
Anniversary. This is a fundraiser in support of the African American
Studies Department & the BUSD Black Staff Collaboratory.
On Friday, May 3rd, we are proud to host Jinho "Piper" Ferreira, Berkeley
High alum and current BHS parent, who is on tour across the country for his
new solo play. This is Jinho's second one-man play after his first
successful performance, "Cops and Robbers" back in 2016. Audience members
will be moved by the 21 characters Jinho seamlessly transitions into as he
discusses the violence Black men face in America, and their strength,
resistance, and perseverance through it all.
BUSD staff, students and parents can receive 20% off using the code
BUSDFamily. The suggested audience age is 13 and up due to language. We
will have a reception afterward for people who would like to meet the
artist and hang out with members of the BUSD community.
