Hello 2024 BHS Prom ticket holders,

We are excited for you to attend the 2024 prom this weekend. The weather
 forecast does show a chance of rain in the daytime so please drive
carefully into the city and bring personal rain coverage as needed. Check
the weather forecast again on Friday.

Here are a few reminders:

The main entrance to SF City Hall is on Polk St.

   - Doors open at 8:00 pm and close at 9:30 pm. Contact Mr. V ASAP via
   email if you are experiencing issues getting to the venue on time.
   - For entry, please bring a photo ID (*student, state, Infinite Campus
   printout with photo*). Be prepared to show it after passing through the
   metal detectors.
   - The security screening is managed by SFPD. Please be aware of the
   items to not bring inside.
   - If you have medication or food/beverage needs, please contact Mr. V or
   Ms. Coleman asap.
   - Free street parking is available after 6:00 pm and there are many
   secure parking garages nearby. Do not leave any valuables viewable in
   your vehicle.
   - In addition, please travel to and from the venue in groups or by
   vehicle directly to the entrance of City Hall on Polk St. Be alert and be
   smart when moving around the city at night.
   - The event is over at 11:30 pm.

*No new guest passes will be accepted after Monday, March 18th*. If your
guest was already approved, please purchase the guest ticket before Friday 3:00
pm.

Dear Parents and Students,

At the entrance to the event, everyone will be searched for prohibited and
illegal substances. Prom is a school sponsored event and school behavior
codes apply. The possession or consumption of tobacco, drugs, alcohol and
paraphernalia is strictly prohibited. Required prescription and/or
non-prescription drugs must be approved prior to the event, otherwise they
will be confiscated. Prohibited items include, but are not limited to:
flasks, glow in the dark items, sharp objects, perfumes, lighters/matches,
water bottles, wallet chains, markers, weapons, canes, zoot suit chains,
gum, eye drops, mouthwash, glass bottles, liquid items.

Any student or guest found in possession of or under the influence or
demonstrating inappropriate behavior will forfeit his/her evening during
prom, with no refunds. Depending on behavior, BHS students may be suspended
from school, and may not participate in the Graduation ceremony, and may be
subject to arrest.

Anyone violating these rules will be denied a refund, may be denied entry
or may be asked to leave the premises. A parent or guardian will be called.

Ineligible students, non-BHS, and outside guests who are not a junior
(11th grade) or a senior (12th grade), who attempt to attend prom will be
denied entry and will lose the right to attend any remaining school and
senior activities.

“Before/After Prom” activities are in no way affiliated or sponsored by
Berkeley High School.

ID REMINDER: A current, valid, Berkeley High School ID required for ENTRY
to the dance.
An ID is required or Infinite Campus screenshot with a photo.

 Junior and Senior Prom 2024

We are looking forward to a magnificent and memorable evening!
Please see the expectations for attendance and behavior (below) required
for all students. Prom is a school event and school rules apply. Students
may not be under the influence or in possession of vapes, tobacco products,
or drugs
BEHAVIOR EXPECTATIONS

No suspensions in the months of January - March.
A current, valid, Berkeley High School ID required for entry to the dance.
An ID is required.
Admission denied/No refunds for students who upon arrival
anyone under the influence of drugs or alcohol or appear to be under the
influence. A parent/guardian will be called.
Anyone who is  rude, impatient, argumentative, disruptive, or otherwise
defiant. A parent/guardian will be called.
No large bags or backpacks. A small clutch/handheld purse is allowed.
Administrators will talk with your parent(s)/guardian(s) if there is a
behavior concern and if you are not following adult directions

DO NOT BRING LIST
Students may not be in possession of Mace/pepper spray, scissors, lighters,
tasers, or other dangerous objects
No outside food or beverage (*unless a student has a dietary need. Contact
Mr. V ahead of time)
No large bags (backpacks, tote bags, travel bags) will be allowed inside
the prom. A small clutch/handheld purse is allowed.
No chewing gum.
No weapons, drugs, alcohol, etc… All of these items will be taken and may
result in disciplinary action. No refunds will be given.
Per City Hall (prom venue) building rules and regulations, all persons will
be required to stop at the security desk located at the City Hall entrance
and allow the deputy sheriffs posted to perform security procedures,
including without limitation, inspecting small purses and requiring
everyone to pass through metal detectors.
Berkeley High School staff will be present during the security check.

Attendance Expectations
The attendance message has been modified since we are close to our prom
date. At this point, If you have questions about your attendance, please
contact Dean of Attendance, CassandraTesch at berkeley.net

Tickets
If you have questions about prom ticket sales, please see previously
shared emails from John Villavicencio, Director of Student Activities.
TICKETS are non-transferable and cannot be traded with other students, this
will result in no entry/admission to the prom. The ticket purchased must be
used by the student who purchased the ticket.
