*Annual Hearing Screening for Students with an IEP & 10th Graders *

Dear Guardians and Families:


Hearing screening is state-mandated for *all students who receive Special
Education* *services and all 10th graders*.

The screenings are conducted in a specialty-equipped van that tests
multiple students at a time by the Hearing Conservation Associates.


The brief screenings for students with an *IEP and 10th graders* will be
during English classes or Special Education classes.

*Screening dates on site at Berkeley High School: October 17-20, 2023 *


In accordance with the Berkeley Schools Handbook
https://www.berkeleyschools.net/handbook/ parents have the right to opt-out
of the hearing screening.



*If you have a student with an IEP or a 10th grader* and want to opt-out
(by 9/15) of the hearing screening for your student(s), please
complete the link
