We want to share with you dates, times, and helpful information ahead of our 2nd semester finals exams week. 

Right now more than ever, our students benefit from clear expectations of what their teachers will ask them to do or complete during “Finals Exams” week. I’ve asked our teachers to make their summative assessment or project directions clear. I also encourage you/your student to ask any clarifying questions to their teachers sooner rather than later.

Here is the schedule for the week of 5/29 - 6/2:

* Students are allowed to leave campus at 12:40pm on final exam days and must do so unless they are actively participating in class or extracurricular activities after lunch time.

* On Friday, June 2nd, students should go to every one of their classes and teachers will take attendance as normal. 

Final Exams Week Notes and Reminders

“Finals Prep / Make Up” is optional time for students to meet with teachers if they have questions about final exams or if they need to make up a final for an approved reason. This is also a time for students who need extended time as per their IEP or 504 Plan. Students should pre-arrange with their teacher when they will be present. Teachers will not be available to students during “Teacher Common Prep.” 

Please remember:  
Finals “exams” may come in a variety of formats and students are encouraged to ask their teachers ahead of time what to expect. 
All students are required to be occupied for the entire 2 hours of the finals period.
Students will not be dismissed from the finals period early, and no one should be out of class without a pass.  
Classroom noise levels should be low during finals periods. Admin and Safety Staff will be on hand to ensure quiet hallways as well.
Students will not be able to request early finals exams from their teachers as teachers are expected to give finals during the finals period. 

Finally, please be aware that teachers, like students, are on summer break from June 3rd to mid-August and so students should not expect their teachers to be available via email during the break. Please communicate with your teacher(s) ahead of time with questions and/or concerns.

* El viernes 2 de junio los alumnos deberán acudir a cada una de sus clases y los profesores tomarán asistencia con normalidad.
 
Notas y recordatorios de la semana de exámenes finales
 
La “Preparación para finales/Exámenes finales se recuperan” es un tiempo opcional para que los estudiantes se reúnan con los maestros si tienen preguntas sobre los exámenes finales o si necesitan recuperar un examen final por un motivo aprobado. Este también es un momento para los estudiantes que necesitan más tiempo según su IEP o Plan 504. Los estudiantes deben hacer arreglos previos con su maestro cuando estarán presentes. Los maestros no estarán disponibles para los estudiantes durante la "Preparación común para maestros".
 
Atención - Recuerde:
· Los "exámenes" finales pueden venir en una variedad de formatos y se alienta a los estudiantes a preguntar a sus maestros con anticipación qué esperar.
· Se requiere que todos los estudiantes estén ocupados durante las 2 horas completas del período final.
· Los estudiantes no saldrán temprano del período de exámenes finales, y nadie debe estar fuera de clase sin un pase.
· Los niveles de ruido en el aula deben ser bajos durante los períodos finales. El personal administrativo y de seguridad estará disponible para garantizar también la tranquilidad de los pasillos.
· Los estudiantes no podrán solicitar exámenes finales anticipados a sus maestros, ya que se espera que los maestros brinden los exámenes finales durante el período de exámenes finales.
 
Finalmente, tenga en cuenta que los maestros, al igual que los estudiantes, están de vacaciones de verano desde el 3 de junio hasta mediados de agosto, por lo que los estudiantes no deben esperar que sus maestros estén disponibles por correo electrónico durante las vacaciones. Comuníquese con su(s) maestro(s) con anticipación si tiene preguntas o inquietudes.
