BHS Field Hockey is seeking TWO assistant coaches for the Fall 2023 season!
BHS Field Hockey is a fun, tight-knit community of athletes, coaches, and
parents who share a love for field hockey, youth sports, and community. We
place equal priority on hard work and having fun.

Assistant coaches are primarily responsible for co-running field practices
and conditioning sessions, providing instruction and support during games,
and encouraging positive skill development, teambuilding, and
sportsmanship. An assistant coach should plan to communicate regularly with
both the head coach and the other assistant coaches on matters
concerning basic team logistics (like scheduling, equipment, rules,
rosters, etc.). Assistant coaches are also expected to travel to at least
half of our away games (approximately 6 - 8 games per season - **this
responsibility is flexible depending on your teaching/work schedule) and
attend the majority of our home games (hosted at BHS approximately 6 - 8
times per season).

Tryouts begin August 7, 2023. Regular season practices begin August 14
immediately after school (3:50 pm to 5:50 pm most weekdays); we practice on
the BHS football turf. Games begin in early September and we average two
games per week through the second or third week of October. Assistant
coaches may anticipate an 8-18 hour time commitment per week, depending on
the week and their work/personal schedule. This is a *paid* position. No
prior experience in field hockey necessary (it's an easy sport to pick up).
If interested, please contact annabel.labrecque at gmail.com
<annabel_labrecque at gmail.com> for more info. I am looking to hire two
coaches by early July.
