Hi BHS families,
Enjoy the winter break with your students!
The CCC will reopen on January 3rd. Counselors are not available for advising during the break.
Your student has applied to college! What should they be doing now?
Signing up for campus portals as necessary (information shared in their email). Save usernames and passwords and check the portal regularly.
Make sure you’ve completed FAFSA or CADAA and maybe CSS Profile (private schools) to keep your financing options open
Keep working hard in school. Students are conditionally accepted and are expected to maintain the same kinds of grades they applied with.
Keep track of any changes since applying - good and bad - as they will likely want to share that with schools if prompted or waitlisted.
Have a relaxing winter break!
Your student is still applying to colleges due in January or beyond. What should they be doing now?
Completing applications thoroughly
Getting them looked over by college counselors in January if due dates are past Jan 3rd
Working on essays with essay readers in the CCC in January if due dates are past Jan 3rd
