Dear Berkeley High School Community,

Working with our Public Health partners at the City of Berkeley, we are
continuing our case response focus to school-wide weekly testing of
students and staff and community-wide COVID risk notifications, rather than
individual exposure letters for students.

Testing will be available at Berkeley High School to students and staff on
Tuesday through Thursday (5/23-5/26) from 2:30pm to 4:30pm.

Most Berkeley High School students and staff are already registered for
BUSD’s free COVID-19 testing. Anyone not registered for testing can register
here <https://my.primary.health/l/berkeley_usd>. This is one-time
registration only.  It is not necessary to register for each test date.

Weekly testing by a majority of our students and staff will provide an
efficient way of identifying students and staff who have COVID at Berkeley
High School, which will slow the spread of COVID at our school.

In the last seven days, 26 COVID-19 cases have been identified as having
been on campus while infectious. We will continue to watch our case numbers
and, in consultation with the City of Berkeley Health Department, make a
determination about the pace of future testing.

Estimada Comunidad en la Escuela Berkeley High School:

Trabajando con nuestros socios de Salud Pública del Gobierno de la Ciudad
de Berkeley durante este período de aumento de COVID-19, estamos cambiando
nuestro enfoque de respuesta a los casos a las pruebas semanales de los
estudiantes y el personal y las notificaciones de riesgo de COVID en toda
la comunidad, en lugar de cartas individuales para los estudiantes
informando acerca de haber sido expuesto. Dada la cantidad de COVID en
nuestra comunidad, por favor considere que es probable que su estudiante
