Dear BUSD Scholars,
Are you interested in getting ahead in college AND earning a year of high school elective credits?!
If so, we are here to support you through the registration process! Check out the course offerings below to learn more! The courses will begin the week of January 23rd.
COUN 57, Life and Career Planning (3 units, transferable to UC/CSU):
Tuesdays, 3:45-5:00pm, ONLINE via ZOOM.
Course Description: Developing plans for life after high school, through self-exploration, identification of values, interests, and lifestyle goals. Exploring three primary questions: Who Am I? What do I want? How do I get it?
HLTED 1, Exploring Health Issues (3 units, transferable to UC/CSU):
Tuesday, 6:30pm-9:20pm, Online Via Zoom (note, this is an updated day/time and mode of instruction)
Course Description: Examination of current problems related to individual and community health: Sexual behavior, birth control, sexually-transmitted diseases, drugs, consumerism, environment, psychosomatic health, nutrition, physical fitness, and preventive medicine.
CHILD DEV 51, Child Growth & Development (3 units, transferable to UC/CSU):
Wednesday, 3:45pm - 5:35pm, BCC ON CAMPUS (on campus courses require proof of vaccination). Course Description: Prenatal through adolescence typical and atypical human growth and development: Interrelationship of physical, social, emotional, and intellectual growth and the adult role in fostering optimal development with emphasis on interactions between nature and nurture, developmental theory and investigative research, child observations and assessment, developmental milestones and individual differences.
