Hello BHS Families,

We are done with our Fall Semester Final Exams week at Berkeley High
School. We want to take this moment to thank our students and thank you -
parents and guardians - for a wonderful 1st semester at BHS.

We hope our students, and you, have opportunities this Winter Recess to
rest and safely enjoy time together with family and friends.

The Spring should be filled with lots of joy and activity:

- Our student leadership and staff continue working together to plan for
safe and community-building spirit activities

- Our District and site administrators are working closely to implement a
smooth and efficient testing protocol for all unvaccinated students
starting on January 3rd

- We are welcoming back Shafia Zaloom to conduct 100+ in-class
presentations on consent education

- We are looking ahead and already planning for major events like Prom in
March and Graduation Ceremonies in June

These are just a few things that you can expect to hear more about soon.
Keep in mind that many of our messages to families often go out via E-Tree. *To

We also want to send out two more special thank yous:

- Thank you to all the Parents/Guardians who have volunteered to help us at
BHS in a variety of roles, from distributing masks at the gates in the
morning to staffing our front desk. Your time and commitment are greatly
appreciated by all of us.

- Thank you to all BHS staff who welcomed back more than 3,100 students
this school year and have worked tirelessly to re-engage our community.

Please remember that our staff are out on break from December 20-31, and so
communication will pick up again when we all return for the Spring Semester
on Monday, January 3rd (Late Start Monday).

- Nuestro personal y el liderazgo estudiantil continúan trabajando juntos
para planificar actividades de espíritu seguras y de construcción
comunitaria.

- Nuestro distrito y los administradores del sitio están trabajando en
estrecha colaboración para implementar un protocolo de evaluación fluido y
eficiente para todos los estudiantes no vacunados a partir del 3 de enero.

- Damos la bienvenida a Shafia Zaloom para que realice más de 100
presentaciones en clase sobre educación sobre el consentimiento.

- Estamos mirando hacia el futuro y ya estamos planificando eventos
importantes como el baile de graduación en marzo y las ceremonias de
graduación en junio.
