programs that your donations to BHSDG have funded this month, as well as
the many ways you can get involved and invest in strengthening our school.

*WHAT HAVE YOUR DONATIONS FUNDED RECENTLY? *

Your giving to BHSDG funds after-school tutoring, classroom supplies,
software, teacher professional development, technology, college-application
support, and many other activities. Without your donations, the BHS
experience would simply not be the same. Highlights of grants funded at our
November meeting include:

*Mock Trial Dues ($275). *The Mock Trial team was revived last year after
more than 10 years. Team members learn not only the legal maneuvers of a
criminal trial, but also public speaking and debate skills. The team
includes students from all grades and small learning communities (SLCs).
This grant provides funding for Berkeley High's Mock Trial team and will
cover the mock trial dues paid to Alameda County.

*BHS Math Teachers Professional Development: California Mathematics Council
Annual Conference ($5831.60). *This conference will allow teachers to meet
with other educators from California and some national figures as well. The
keynote session will focus on equity and anti-racist teaching practices,
which are directly aligned with BHS's multi-year focus to improve outcomes
for all students. This is of particular interest to the BHS Math
Department, which is working to address racial disparities in academic
outcomes for students.
