Hello BHS Families,

Back in the summer, I sent out the following communication <https://docs.google.com/document/d/1hFN1jcGWrcSmzhMPoBPmfgsGZWnPMH0kQ5tsmLCK6_Y/edit?usp=sharing> to families and students.

Assembly Bill 104 gave BHS families the option to request for letter grades received in 2020-21 of "F" to be changed to "No Pass" and for letter grades of "A to D" to be changed to "Pass." However, the Bill was signed in the summer and gave very tight deadlines which meant forms had to be submitted before the school year started. 

Governor Newsom has just signed Senate Bill 167 which EXTENDS the deadline for grade changes (from letter to pass/no pass) until this Friday, October 1st. We just received this news so we are letting you know right away. 

If you would like to take advantage of this option, please make sure to review the original message linked above extremely carefully and submit your form to bhsab104 at berkeley.net <mailto:bhsab104 at berkeley.net> by no later than Friday, October 1st at 4:00pm.

El Proyecto de Ley 104 de la Asamblea les dio a las familias de BHS la opción de solicitar que las calificaciones con letras recibidas en 2020-21 de "F" se cambien a "No aprobado" y que las calificaciones de letras de "A a D" se cambien a "Aprobado". Sin embargo, el proyecto de ley se firmó en el verano y tenía plazos muy ajustados, lo que significaba que los formularios debían enviarse antes de que comenzara el año escolar.

El Gobernador Newsom acaba de firmar el Proyecto de Ley del Senado 167 que EXTIENDE la fecha límite para los cambios de calificación (de carta a aprobar / no aprobar) hasta este viernes 1 de octubre. Acabamos de recibir esta noticia, por lo que se lo comunicamos de inmediato.
