Please find below a Community Letter regarding another positive COVID-19 test result for an individual who was at Berkeley High School.

Dear Parent/Guardian,
I am writing to inform you that we were notified of a positive COVID-19 test result for an individual who was at Berkeley High School. While we have no reason to believe your student was a close contact* of this individual, we are notifying you because we have committed to notifying the community any time there is a positive case at a BUSD site.
We have followed all positive case protocols including cleaning all areas where this individual was last week.
There is nothing you need to do at this time. We take the health and safety of our staff and students very seriously. We hope you take reassurance in the fact that we do not believe that your student was a close contact to this individual. Please continue to have your student practice all COVID-19 safety protocols: Wash hands, wear a face covering, practice social distancing and be sure you complete the BUSD electronic COVID-19 Health Screening Form each school day for your student.
Regards,
Amanda Frey District Nurse
*A close contact is defined as a person who is less than 6 feet from an infected person for greater than 15 minutes. This can be with or without a face covering/mask. The 15 minutes do NOT have to be contiguous, that is, for example, a person could have 10 minutes of contact before lunch and five minutes of contact after lunch for a total of 15 minutes.
*If your student was a close contact of this positive individual you would have already received a separate phone call/email notification indicating this.

Estimado Padre/Tutor Legal,
