Hello!

My name is Alessandra Ionescu-Zanetti, co-president of the Physics Club. On
Monday, March 29th, the BHS Physics Club is holding a fascinating lecture.

What: This lecture will discuss the characteristics of early sound
recordings and the use of this new technology as applied to a number of
notable collections: field recordings of Native Americans and Canadians
from the early 20th Century, the experimental sound recordings of Alexander
Graham Bell from the 1880s, and ethnographic recordings collected by Milman
Parry in Yugoslavia in 1930, which led to the oral-formulaic theory of epic
poetry.

Who: Carl Haber, an experimental particle physicist.

When: Monday, March 29th at 2:45 pm

Fill out this <https://forms.gle/3zXpY2KVbspppxUf7>form if you are

You can find more information about the lecture on the form.

See you on Monday!

Additionally, the Physics Club is still accepting submissions for the
Science Fair!
The Science Fair will have an award ceremony at which a Nobel Prize winner,
Jennifer Doudna, will come speak to us. There will also be a cash prize!
Here is more information about the event: tinyurl.com/bhs-science-fair

The deadline for the Science Fair has been adjusted so that students can
work on their projects over spring break. We will now be accepting
submissions until Monday, April 19th.

Parents, please feel free to donate to the Physics Club using the
Eventbrite link. Proceeds will go towards making physics more fun and
accessible for all!
