Hello BHS Community,

I am writing to you to vehemently condemn the violence against Asian-Americans that we are witnessing in the Bay Area and around our country. 

I especially want to acknowledge that members of our own BHS community might be hurting and need our support. 

As educators, we must see and honor the humanity in everyone, and the targeted hate on members of the Asian-American community serve as yet another reminder that we have a responsibility to create classroom spaces that are unequivocally anti-racist and anti-xenophobic.

There are implications for all of us, and for educators especially, we must move forward knowing that "The truth is all students are affected by hate and bias. It’s up to educators to protect those who are targeted by it and give students and other adults the tools to stop perpetrating harm in the future."

Especialmente quiero reconocer que los miembros de nuestra propia comunidad de BHS pueden estar sufriendo y necesitan nuestro apoyo.
