Seniors,

We have a spreadsheet of scholarship applications below. Many applications
have expired and have not opened up yet for the 2020-2021 academic year.
Keep checking back. We will add more scholarships as we receive them.

Look at the monthly tabs at the bottom of the spreadsheet for the month of
the due date/deadline.

*How to apply for scholarships*:

   1. *Look at each school* you are applying to for their scholarship
   opportunities, eligibility, requirements, and deadlines.
   2. *Look at websites* and plan ahead for a scholarship. Ask everyone if
they know of scholarships- employers, churches, temples, civic groups,
   sororities, fraternities, and more.
   3. *Save your essays* from college applications in google docs/drive
which may be used for the scholarship application.
   4. Ask 1-2 people for a strong *letter of recommendation*. Recommenders
may upload or mail a letter of recommendation directly to the scholarship
   group.
   5. You may need a *completed FAFSA application and/or IRS tax records*
to show financial need. This is a big reason why many scholarships occur
after the college applications and FAFSA are submitted.

*Tips to remember*:

   1. More reputable sites are usually .edu and .org
   2. *Do not share personal information* with any sites, especially Social
Security Number and credit card #s
   3. *Do not pay* for any service. Like the old saying goes, "Too good to
be true- it probably isn't true!". Not bad to be skeptical and do your
   research.
   4. Raffles, lotteries, and no essay contests are usually not a good use
   of your time.
   5. The more *local* the application, the better chance for you to be a
recipient. Look at how many awards are given.
