Please do not reply to this email. Contact Juan Raygoza, Vice Principal, at
juanraygoza at berkeley.net or your School Counselor if you have any questions.
School Counselors will be meeting with all current 10th & 11th grade
students starting Tuesday, February 24th until March 13th in order for your
child make course requests for the 2020-21 school year. Additionally,
students will have the opportunity to enter the Small Learning Communities
(SLC) Lottery if they wish to request to move out of their current SLC and
into another SLC for the 2020-21 school year. Students MUST enter the SLC
lottery while meeting with their School Counselor in order to have an
opportunity to move SLCs. SLC reassignments are based on lottery
guidelines, space availability, and are NOT guaranteed.
Families will be mailed a copy of their student’s course requests and a
report if their student entered the SLC Lottery by early-April. They will
then have an opportunity to make edits and submit those changes to the BHS
Counseling Office by no later than Friday, April 10th.
Hard copies of the BHS Course Catalog 2020-21 will be delivered to all
current 10th and 11th graders ahead of their course requests meeting with
their School Counselor. Additionally, an electronic version of the catalog
is now available on the BHS website.
Thank you.
