*Theater~*

**Concert by Brown University A Cappella Group!*

Visiting from Brown University, the Higher Keys a cappella group are
performing a concert at Berkeley High, opened by Berkeley High's only
student-run a cappella group, the Hot Pitches.  The Higher Keys will do a
one-night concert this *Friday, January 17th, at 6pm in Room A201*.
Tickets are $5 for students and $10-20 pay-what-you-wish for general
admission, and can be purchased at the door or online at
higherkeysbhs.bpt.me.  See Mr.Winer with any questions.


**Audition for the BHS Spring Mini Musicals!!*  This spring, the production
team that brought Carrie the Musical to Berkeley High last year, is
returning to produce three mini musicals that all examine what it's like to
be a young person through family life, relationships, school and
society.  *Auditions
are January 29th and 31st.*  Sign up sheets are in the C gallery, A
building and outside the CCC.  Please prepare a one minute monologue and a
one to two minute contemporary musical theater song.  All experience levels
are welcome.  Hope to see you all at auditions!!

Do you want to write about a subject you love for the Berkeley High
Jacket?  Our award winning student-run newspaper is now accepting

*Jacket Sports~*

*Boys Volleyball*: All interested boys volleyball players -

The spring season is right around the corner.  Tryouts are on February
10th.  Only cleared athletes can participate. Please register online.

*Open Gym~*TUESDAY: Open Gym begins this week (1/14)

   - Tuesdays and Thursdays from 6pm-8pm in the M-Gym
   - Open gym is open to all interested in playing volleyball and is a good
   opportunity to get in shape, learn the game, and shake off the rust before
   February 10th.

Also, we are hoping to run a full JV program this season to compliment our
varsity program. Sign-ups will determine whether or not we can run two
teams so tell your friends!  For information, please email Coach Mike

*Winter Athletic Conditioning*

BHS Students who are interested in getting into shape over the winter are
invited to attend physical conditioning sessions during the school week.
The object of these sessions is to improve strength, speed, endurance,
mobility, and power capacity of attendees.


*The aquatic conditioning component (3:30-5 and 6:15-7:30 Tue/Thurs) is now
open beginning this Tuesday, January 14th.*


Multiple options for conditioning are available including:

   - Speed, Plyometric, and Endurance Training - 4:45pm - 6:15pm Monday
   through Friday Interested students should meet near the North entrance to
   Jacket stadium between the stadium building and the Donahue Gym.
   - Swimming and Aquatic Aerobic Conditioning - 3:30 to 5:00 on Tuesday
   and Thursday -  Interested students should meet at the BHS Pool.
   - Powerlifting and Weight Training - 6:30 to 7:30 on Monday, Wednesday,
   & Friday - Interested students should meet at the BHS Weight Room.
   - Aquatic Rehabilitation and Injury Prevention  - 6:15 to 7:30 on
   Tuesday and Thursday -  Interested students should meet at the BHS Pool.

The program will run until February 7th.  Spring sports begin February 10th.
