[BHS Etree] PTSA: Support Berkeley Teachers at School Board Meeting, Oct. 23 (Wed)

BHS Etree bhs at lists.lmi.net
Mon Oct 21 15:27:37 PDT 2019

PLEASE do not reply to this email, contact Matt Meyer,
president at berkeleyteachers.org or the PTSA bhs-ptsa at berkeleypta.org
<bhs-ptsa at berkeleypta.org?subject=>.

Berkeley teachers are still working on an expired contract. Time is
running out to reach an agreement. Berkeley's students and families need a
stable teacher and classified workforce.

Berkeley teachers are near the bottom of compensation when compared with
teachers across Alameda County. As a result our teachers are having to
take jobs elsewhere due to the high cost of living and BUSD's
noncompetitive salaries.

*Please join teachers and classified staff at the School Board meeting on
October 23rd at 1231 Addison St. at 7 pm.* The School Board needs to hear
from the community that reaching an agreement that supports teachers and
staff is their priority.

BHS parents interested in speaking during Public Comment may fill out a
speaker card at the meeting or contact Matt Meyer.
