Registration for the 2019-20 school year begins next week and we are looking forward to welcoming everyone back to Berkeley High. Please find below important dates, times and info about what students should bring with them. Included in this message is information regarding the Athletic Department, Student Leadership, Photos, Illuminate Home Connect, the Lunch Program and more.  Also here is info on what to do if your student is unable to attend next week's registration.

Registration Schedule
Seniors – Monday, August 19
Juniors – Tuesday, August 20
Sophomores – Wednesday, August 21
Make-up Session  -- Thursday, August 22   (see below for timing)
Freshman – Friday, August 23   (see below for timing)

Registration hours on Monday, Tuesday & Wednesday:
Last Name A – G       8:30 to 10:00 am
Last Name H – O       10:00 to 11:30 am
Last Name P – Z        1:00 to 2:30 pm
10th, 11th, 12th graders are to report to the Jacket Gym. Please note that doors will be closed from 11:30 – 1:00 

All students will have their school photo ID taken, receive the BHS organizer (free), have a chance to purchase an ASB sticker, sign up for a locker, and get textbooks.

Freshman Orientation and Registration – Friday, August 23 ~ 8:00 am - 3:00 pm
All incoming 9th graders should report to the Donahue Gym by 8:00 am for the start of their orientation. Orientation/Registration will consist of an assembly, small group sessions facilitated by Link Leaders, a campus tour, and a Club Fair. Students will receive their course schedule, photo ID, planner and locker assignment. Link Leaders are trained upperclassmen students who will guide a group of 9th graders through orientation until the end of the school year. Students are welcome to bring snacks or a bag lunch.

Make-Up Registration Session Thursday, August 22, 8:30- 11:00
Doors will open at 8:30 and close at 11:00

New to BHS 10-12th grades — Mini-orientation on Thursday, August 22 from 10:00-11:00 am. We will meet at the main courtyard on the steps of the Berkeley Community Theater. The orientation will include a campus tour, question and answer period, and community building activities. Please RSVP with Mr V: johnvillavicencio at berkeley.net for more info on how to sign up.

First Day of School, Monday, August 26, 9:57 am
Please note: there is no “0” period on this day only. Mondays are “late start” days. Tuesday- Friday 1st period starts at 8:27 For those who missed registration, Photo IDs will be taken from 8:00 - 4:00 East Gallery of the A Building.

School photos for student ID cards. Information about ordering photos from Lifetouch and sample packages can be found here <https://my.lifetouch.com/mylifetouch/#/>. BHS order number is BY119321Q0. Cash or check payments payable to Lifetouch. Paper photo order forms can be picked up in advance at the BHS front desk.

When students attend registration next week, they should bring with them the following:
· A lock for your locker (we suggest combination locks)

For Students Unable to Attend Registration
On the first day of school (Monday, August 26), please check in at the counseling office in the Admin building, starting at 8:30 am, where students can get a printed copy of their schedule. We will announce Textbook Room hours, photo ID make-ups, and locker assignments in the Student Daily Bulletin during the first week of school. Photo IDs will be taken from 8:00 - 4:00 on Monday, August 26

Illuminate Student and Parent Portal
Every BHS student has an Illuminate account that they can sign into using their student email account (via Google). Please encourage your student to use it regularly!  Students are asked to contact Matt Albinson mattalbinson at berkeley.net if they need assistance. We encourage all parents/guardians to join Illuminate Home Connect!  This is the portal for parents/guardians to view grades, assignments and attendance data as well as provide the high school with important contact and emergency card information. Athletic Programs -- Information from our Athletic Department, including the online process for team registration and a link to fall tryouts can be found at bhs.berkeleyschools.net/athletics/  Many fall sports have already begun tryouts this week. Please review this information ASAP.
  
Lunch Program Information -- Please visit https://secure.ezmealapp.com/Default.aspx to access the secure online meal application. If you qualify for Free/Reduced Meals the benefits apply to testing, graduation costs, and other school activities. Once a student applies and qualifies, the information is automatically linked to their existing student ID number.  If you do not qualify for free/reduced price lunch, and you want an option that will make it convenient to purchase meals in the BHS Food Court, please visit https://www.ezschoolpay.com/Login.aspx to pay by debit card or Visa/MasterCard.
