Dear Parents and Community,
We are fortunate to have our community lending a hand when we need them. As the 2019 school year comes to a close I'd like to thank those of you who helped throughout the year; please let me know if I have missed adding your name to this list.
Thank you to our Etree Moderators, the extraordinary team of Marguerite Fa-Kaji, Dylan Kaufman, Nicole Chee and Jenny Fosket for their behind-the-scenes work with the Etree all year long, from early in the morning until late into the evening and sometimes on weekends. The moderators read through every single email message before it is posted, help with formatting and contact info, edit for clarity, and respond thoughtfully and promptly to everyone who seeks assistance. Two of our moderators, Dylan and Marguerite, are moving on. Dylan will be taking a break until his youngest child arrives at BHS, thank you for 4 solid years of moderating. Marguerite is leaving us after 12 years (and 5 BHS graduates) as the backbone of the Etree -- her institutional knowledge and wisdom regarding BHS communications will be greatly missed. An enormous fond farewell to them both.
Thank you to our BHS Tour Guides who took turns leading tours of prospective students and their families almost every morning from October through March. Many times these tours are the first impression of our school, we are so lucky to have had these guides and send thanks to: Chaghig Minassian Walker, Chrissy Hoffman, Judith Barish, Jodi Cahn, Helen Bae, Deirdre Nurre, Lisa Vega, Suzanne Alberga and Wiz Wells. Special gratitude and good bye to Wiz for her 7 years and Judith for her 5 years as dedicated tour guides.
Thanks to our Front Desk Volunteers for your help in making Berkeley High a friendly, welcoming place week after week, all year long, from the first day of school until the end of this week! Sincere appreciation to Abby Waldstein, Afra Pourdad, Alison King, Allison Wren, Amy Watson, Beth Doh, Bethany Schoenfeld, Bill Hurley, Bill Williams, Bonnie Lamb, Bruce Rizzo, Casey Ledor, Cheryl Berg, Courtney Walch, Dana Welsh, Dawn Paxson, Debbie Bamberger, Debra Underwood, Diane Halberg, Diane O'Keefe, Elena Kaloyanova, Gazel Valdez, Isobel White, Jean Fichtenkort, Jean Lusson, Jeff Marshall, Jen Werner, Jennifer Little, Jennifer Obidah, Jessica Hilton, Joan Bell, Joan Kiang, Joann Marshall, Josh Langenthal, Julie Weitz, Kathleen Morris, Kim Kapoor, Kim Winkleman, Kimmi Kataria, Laura Wildmann, Lauren Snider Brandt, LianaCapers-Davis, Lisa Handwerker, Maureen Ellenhorn, Melanie Green, Mia Masia,.
