*GO JACKETS!! *


Spring Season is wrapping up and some teams are in League championships and
moving on to other post season competition!

Here are some ongoing post season games/matches and some reports as we have
them…..stay tuned for more to come!


*Baseball* League Winners, 17-8 overall record and 12-3 in league. The
Yellowjackets Varsity Baseball team is seeded #9 and advances to the first
round of NCS championship playoffs.  They will travel to the Monte Vista
Mustangs #8 for a 5:00 game on Tuesday May 14, 2019.

*Softball* 13-5 overall record, 9-3 in league.  The Yellowjackets Varsity
Softball team is seeded #13 in NCS and will travel to Amador Valley (#4) to
play in the first round of the NCS championship playoffs.  Tuesday May 14,
2019 game time is 5:00

For NCS games admission is charged:

General (adults) $10, Students, Senior, Children with Adult $6



*Swimming/Diving*

Update from NCS competition:

Berkeley scored in two individual *swimming* events, the women’s 200 IM and
the women’s 100 freestyle, ( 7th and 8th, respectively)

*women’s diving* (6th place) and *men’s diving* (8th and 18th) and finished
in the team standings at 18th place with 37 team points.

Haley Kirtland set a team record in the 200 yd IM at NCS and qualified for
the State Championship meet in the 100 yd freestyle race.



*Crew*

Berkeley High Boys and Girls Crews traveled to the Southwest Youth
Championships in Sacramento, faced the fastest club and school teams from
California, Arizona, Nevada, and Utah, with the following highlights:

   - The Boys Varsity Double of seniors Brad Stimpson and Julian Kuzdovich
   won bronze medals and qualified for the Youth National Championships on
   June 6th in Sarasota, Florida.
   - The Girls Varsity Double placed 7th out of 30 boats and will go to the
   Scholastic National Championships on May 24th in Nashport Ohio.
   - The Boys Varsity Quad placed 5th out of 24 boats.
   - The Girls Varsity Quad placed 9th out of 36 boats.
   - The Boys Lightweight Double placed 8th out of 21 boats.
   - The Girls Freshman Quad placed 5th out of 13 boats.
   - The Women's Open Four placed 5th out of 10 boats.
   - The Girls Lightweight Double placed 11th out of 20 boats.


*Tennis, Boys*

Alex Chang and Michael Wright advanced to the NCS championships as Berkeley
Highs Doubles team.  From the Mercury News: Berkeley’s Alex Chang and
Michael Wright reached the Division 1 doubles finals before falling to
Redwood High doubles.   The Berkeley duo, the #3 seed, won three matches in
straight sets before the finals, losing only a total of eight games in
those three matches.



*Track, Boys and Girls*

Meet of Champions on May 17 and 18.  More info to come….stay tuned
