Berkeley High School African American Studies Department/African-Haitian
Dance Program continues the tradition with its spring dance concert by
presenting 50 Years - A Tribute To Excellence. The evening is sure to
delight, surprise and engage the audience with a journey from Africa to
Haiti; Hip Hop, Praise dance as well as more contemporary fare of modern
dance styles, Nepalese folk dance, Salsa and spoken word of the urban
griots/storytellers/rappers. With pieces choreographed by both teachers
and students, this is certainly not a performance to be missed! Support
the arts and Berkeley High School students as they breathe life into dance
both ancient and modern, and bring insights into who they are and some of
the journeys and challenges they have embarked on and where they hope to
land.
