Negotiations for a new teachers union contract begins on March 13, 2019. The Berkeley Federation of teachers is mobilizing teachers, classified staff, parents, and guardians to attend the March 13th School Board meeting to show the collective desire for the Board to prioritize these negotiations and work very creatively to find a way to raise salaries in BUSD. The spirit of this event will be determination, not confrontation. It will have a HUGE impact for Board members to see parents at this mobilization and not just teachers and classified staff.

Parents are encouraged to bring their students with them on March 13th to have pizza at 6:45pm and participate in a short rally at 7pm in the courtyard outside the Board Room at 1231 Addison Street. Ample parking is available in the large lot on Browning St. just beyond where Addison and Browning Streets intersect. The School Board meeting begins at 7:30 p.m.

BHS parents interested in speaking during Public Comment may fill out a speaker card at the meeting or contact Matt Meyer
