*AP Environmental Science* Thinking about taking AP Environmental Science
next year? Attend a lunch meeting with Ms. Harm on *Thursday, February
21st in Room G216*. Get your questions answered and learn why so many
students love this class.

*Interested in working with your hands and project based learning?* Come
to the *Carpentry Shop in G112 at lunch on Thursday, February 28th* for an
information session. Learn about our new Carpentry and Digital Design
classes.

Throughout the course of the year, students in the carpentry program will
be engaged in a variety of individual and group projects, exercises and
readings to build up their skills in construction, design and critical
problem solving. This will include traditional methods of building with
hand tools as well as cutting edge digital fabrication and modeling tools.
Students will also be exposed to the range of career opportunities across
the fields of fabrication, design and construction. Emphasis will be on
hands-on projects that have constraints to guide their design but allow for
individual creativity.

*Seal of Bi-literacy* Do you speak two languages fluently? Are you a
senior? Did you pass the California standards test in English language
arts as proficient level or above? If so, you may qualify for the Seal of
Biliteracy. If you are interested in an application for the Seal of
Bi-literacy for your high school diploma, please *see Ms Henrickson in
M209, Ms Fullerton in M208 or Ms Stewart in C107 for an application.
Applications are due March 22, 2019.*

*Calling all writers!* Looking for a different type of English elective?
Want to get published? Want to develop the look and feel of a brand new
magazine just for Berkeley High?

Next year, we will be offering an English/elective for juniors and seniors
that does double duty as a cross genre creative writing course and a
publishing class. We will publish two issues of a literary magazine each
year, and each class member will both develop a portfolio of their own
creative writing, as well as serve in a specific function on the publishing
team: editing, marketing, layout and graphic designer. Come join a
community of creative types that will push you to expand your writing
horizons! *See Ms. Faur for more details in room H207 or email her at *
arynfaur at berkeley.net <arynfaur at berkeley.net?subject=>*.*

*Dance Under the Stars* The sophomore class leadership is hosting a "Dance
Under the Stars" *next Friday, February 22nd*.

Come to a dance under the stars on Friday, *February 22nd! Tickets are $7
or $5 *with an ASB (Associated Student Body) sticker, and unlimited pizza,
snacks, and drinks are included! Tickets are available for purchase in the
leadership office or several upcoming lunches at the senior steps.

*THANK YOU, JACKETS!*
