Hi BHS families,

Our next BOLD meeting is scheduled for *Monday, February 11th, from 6:30 to
8:30 pm* in the Berkeley High College and Career Center. Our presenter
will be BUSD Superintendent Donald Evans. This is an opportunity to come
to hear about BUSD's current and future vision for Special Ed and to
discuss, in a direct way, all things related to Special Ed.

Please join us!

Below is the planned BOLD calendar for the remainder of this school year.

*BOLD Spring 2019*

Jan 14 Spec Ed law Robin Miller

Feb 11 BUSD Board Superintendent Donald Evans

Mar 11 College planning & other options Rebecca Fields

Apr 8 Educational Therapist TBD

May 13 Student panel BHS Alums

*Current BOLD needs:*

We have a slot open for a presenter on April 8. If you know of an
Educational Therapist and/or anyone who you think would be a good resource
for BOLD families to know about and hear from please let us know. Please
contact BOLD directly, email: bhsboldcontact at gmail.com
<bhsboldcontact at gmail.com?subject=>

The last BOLD meeting of the year in May is usually when we have a student
panel present to the group. This has included BHS alum and current seniors
with learning challenges who talk about what their experiences at BHS have
been like and life post BHS. If you know of any alum or current seniors
that would like to participate, we would love to hear from them. The
meeting is scheduled for May 13. Please have them contact BOLD directly,
email: bhsboldcontact at gmail.com

*Lastly, but VERY IMPORTANTLY! Don't let BOLD die.*

We are still looking for a couple, or 3, good people to take over
coordinating BOLD starting next September. The current coordinators will
be "graduating" at the end of this school year. This is a great
opportunity to be a part of the Special Ed community and to keep an
invaluable parent resource going. Please send us an email if you are
interested in knowing more. It is not a big time commitment and you will
be part of helping many parents & families navigate BHS and the world of
special ed to get the services they need. Please help to ensure this
continues.

Thanks!
